Meet the Teacher
Greetings parents~
I’d like to introduce myself to you as the teacher of the 5th grade classroom that will be working with your students the year. I just finished my Masters in Education with a focus on Career and Tech Education focus from Eastern Washington University. I have a Bachelors degree in K-8 Education Interdisciplinary Studies and General Education, as well asa an Associates in History. Recently I finished the George Washington Leadership and Legacy Institute.

I recently moved to the Cathlamet area where my husband and I are building a new home. We came from Colorado, where I was born and raised on a cattle ranch and in logging located in the Rocky Mountains. I’ve worked in education for 21 years as a preschool teacher, district event coordinator, substitute teacher, volunteer volleyball assistant, administrative assistant and teacher. Most recently I taught 6th-11th grade history, geography and agriculture education in a rural community. I came from a school and community much like here in size.

I’m eager to be a part of the community and learn about the diverse opportunities to explore nature and your historical roots. In my spare time my husband, along with our two grown sons, enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting and anything to do while exploring the outdoors. Recently I went clamming and chanterelle mushroom hunting and found a new favorite hobby! I’m a professional photographer and web designer so I look forward to capturing your beautiful community in my lens.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful kiddos with me. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know this beautiful place I now call home.
